Name: Tara Cephus
Username: corgiridernoteprovider
Race: Fairy
Class: Bard
Role: Support
Profession: Beast Tamer
Languages:
Fairy Language - Fluent
Human Language - Fluent
Level: 1
Abilities:
Calming Melody - Any creature, enemy, NPC, or player who hears this melody will become much less aggressive and have their negative feelings calmed. This has no effect on anyone or anything the singer has attacked, or anyone or thing who knows the singer has attacked their allies, unless the target forgives the singer for the attack. It does affect enemies who are actively attacking the singer so long as the singer has not yet fought back. (Strong, WPP)
Hymn of Madness - Any creature, enemy, NPC, or player who hears this hymn will become panic-stricken and begin to hallucinate, to an extent that leaves them unable to tell friend from foe. If exposed for more than two rounds, hallucinatory monsters will attack the listeners, dealing Light Sonic and Psychic damage with each strike. The song’s other effects are Moderate.
Beastly Ballad - Any animal or unintelligent monster who hears this ballad will become entranced, following and protecting the singer and following simple orders for as long as the song continues. Once the song ends, entranced creatures will no longer follow orders, but will not become hostile towards the singer for at least two rounds. (Light compulsion effects)
Invigorating Aria - Allies or neutral entities which hear this song will gain Light resistance to all attacks, one extra dodge per combat, and have their physical attacks and abilities (but not any special effects of items) improved by one power level (capped at Moderate). This also affects the singer, but does not affect this ability itself. Affected neutral entities which are provoked into being hostile will cease to benefit from the song’s effects, but they will linger for one round. If the song stops and begins again, those affected do not gain another dodge if they have already used the extra dodge from a previous performance of the song.
Silvertongue - Attempts to persuade, intimidate, or bargain with others are more successful. Targets are generally unaware of any magical intervention in their responses, but may become suspicious depending on the circumstances. This ability has no effect on suspicious or knowledgeable targets. (Light power, WPP)
Party On! - The first ability the bard uses to affect their party lasts for one round after they stop actively sustaining the ability.
Alluring - Once per thread, charm an NPC into acting as though you had +40 rep with their region. Only good for one request/action and then it wears off. NPCs ARE aware they were bespelled by you. Does not work on enemies actively attacking you.
Truthbound -Unable to abandon a quest. Huh, strange, that USED to be the way the race worked in the game but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. But it does look like you can't lie anymore…
Equipped Items:
Songweaver’s Lute - While playing this lute, multiple Bard songs can be blended into one that grants all the effects of its components. A maximum of three songs can be blended this way, and singing blended songs requires significantly more concentration than their isolated versions. (Continuing to play a song for a round normally costs 1 action, but a composite of 2 songs costs 2 actions, and a composite of 3 costs 3.)
Shining Mail - A set of gleaming silver chainmail armor that seems to glow with an inner light. Provides Moderate defense against physical and Dark attacks, and Light defense against all other attacks.
Backpack (Up to 10 Items):
Phial of Stun Resistance (3/3 sips) -The drinker is unable to be stunned by physical attacks for four rounds. Well, that’s what it used to do, at least. Now that the stun mechanic isn’t really a thing except for abilities which literally paralyze their targets, it seems to make the drinker immune to pain instead.
Paper-Weight Paperweight - This mysterious item makes any small item it touches as light as a sheet of paper. When in a backpack, it affects the backpack and its contents, allowing the wearer to move unburdened. It used to improve a character’s walking speed by a negligible amount, but now this just makes it easier to walk around with a backpack full of miscellaneous items.
Coin Pouch (100S) - A coin pouch full of silver pieces. Not really enough to buy anything noteworthy, but great as gifts to ingratiate yourself to others.
Fork - This is just a fork. Why did you even pick this up?
Ruined Book - An ancient book full of terrible and powerful secrets… possibly. But it’s completely illegible, so you’ll never know.
Banked Items (Unlimited):
Wheel of Cheese (x37) - Hey, they’re cheaper than potions, okay? You bought a lot of these early on, and then ended up never using most of them by the time you got enough gold to afford real healing items.
Reputation:
-Meindal: 0
Fame: 2
Guild: None
Appearance: In-game, corgiridernoteprovider is a 5’2” fairy with pink-tinged skin, electric blue eyes, and blindingly white hair in a pixie cut. Tara had similar proportions to her character in reality, but that was just about the only similar thing as far as their appearance, and she’s still a little shocked every time she sees her reflection.
Personality: Tara used to play her character as a silver-tongued charmer capable of talking her way into or out of any situation she chose. In reality, Tara was generally quiet and unassuming - partly by choice, partly because she felt she’d already started on that path and couldn’t do much to change herself at the time. Now, she’s taking her transportation into the game as a welcome chance to reinvent her personality, which is starting to settle somewhere towards the middle of those two.
