When you first log in, you are in Meindal, regardless of where your character was logged out before.
The user interface can be brought up by swiping your hand in front of yourself, across your eyes, as if wiping a window. This is not common knowledge as previously it was a key press. This is how the UI is enabled in CDO while trapped. It is something most people eventually figure out, however. The interface does not contain a log out options and there are no other intractable available beyond some settings & the chatroom. You've lost all macros or similar buttons and there are no addons. Informational aspects are still available, such as your stats and similar.
NPCs can access the UI now.
The ability to see usernames depends on what your settings were prior to being trapped in CDO. If you had "Display Usernames" turned on you can see them now. If you had it turned off, you will not be able to see them. This can be changed in the UI.
Whether or not your UI is visible to others when you activate it is a toggleable setting in the UI. Previously the setting was, 'Idle Animation while in Menu.' If it was turned on, your character would do some small animation while you browsed the menus. Now, if it was turned on, the UI will appear like a hologram in front of yourself. If you had this turned off, it will be invisible to all others.
Quests are posted on an actual, physical job board.
You cannot simply walk out of a zone into 'undiscovered' territory. You freeze at the border where the zone would have changed in game.
