Riding corgis are thought to have been an experiment gone awry from a transmutation specialist. They appeared near Brightmist Kingdom's wilderness only about eighty years ago and showed an intrinsic friendliness towards all humanoids. These days, riding corgis are not common to find in the wild; the majority of them have been domesticated and are now raised and sold by specialized breeders. They are docile creatures, although they can be trained to serve as warsteeds and when put to this function can be a powerful tool when inflicted on enemy cavalry, bringing down horses and other more common mount types deftly. Regardless of wartraining or not, all riding corgis seem to bond fast and closely to their riders and will often defend them to the death if their rider should fall. Riding corgis have also been known to go seek help for their riders without any prior training. They're fantastic companions for winter travel, snuggling up with their riders in camp to offer the warmth of their large, furry bodies. They also adore their smaller, domestic dog counterpart--few things will perk up a despondent riding corgi than introducing some normal size corgis to play with them.
