- ROMANCE. I LOVE romances. I will take them all--happy romances, hate-mance, bittersweet, star-crossed lovers, straight, bi, gay, pan, asexual. You name it, I'll probably be willing to try it (I will admit a preference to male/female though, out of familiarity but that won't stop me from branching out.) I want to fill ALL my quadrants. My favorite kinds of romances have some element of inherent strife or difference between the couples. This can range from a simple 'opposites attract' scenario to full-blown love-hate. They don't have to be healthy or even long-lasting, but I'm also totally game for couples that are perfect for one another. I do have a tendency to gravitate towards romance without even trying so if you see me doing this and want me to stop please let me know.
- The Fall/Rise mechanic. This is what I call a type of character development (be it mine or anyone else's) where a character starts out normal or well off and has everything taken away from them. This can be physically, emotionally, spiritually, some mix of it all. They go from whatever they were to rock bottom (or at least near the bottom.) And then, over time, they get built back up. I'm not nice to characters. I enjoy tearing them down, watching them suffer, and then allowing them to slowly be rewarded for enduring that suffering. Sometimes I even do take-backsies, but mostly once I'm done tearing a character down (I prefer to make it swift, only a handful events. I don't like repeatedly knocking a character down or kicking them at their lowest) I'm ready to focus on the good.
- Intrigue. I love plots and schemes and plans on any and all levels. From petty plotting to high level political scheming. It's all great to me.

I'll be honest. I'm willing to play basically anything/everything (except minors/adults relationships. Gross. Pedophilia is not okay.) I might not want to go into the gritty details but I have no problems with implying some pretty brutal things nor dealing with the aftermath of them. Subject matter doesn't phase me.
There are just two things where I will not want to play with you.
I'm wary of folks who play entire groups of characters themselves--that is to say, they have several characters who all know each other and are largely interacting only between themselves, with the same person playing all of them. I will probably be reluctant to play with you until I see that you're open to playing with other people and not just looking for an audience.
And I do not want to play someone whose only purpose is to pick up the pieces of your character when they keep getting knocked down repeatedly. Nor do I want to play a character whose only job is to go "How terrible!" when terrible things happen. I want to be an active participant in what happens to your character and mine. If you just want drama llama audience, look elsewhere. If you want to put your character through the wringer, I want to be turning the crank or else shoving my character in there with yours.
